TOP REPORTING VERBS IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING RESEARCH ARTICLES: EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL FACTORS AFFECTING THE TENSE USE

This study employs a sociolinguistic framework to conduct an in-depth analysis of how reporting verbs are impacted in research articles on electrical engineering. 160 Electrical papers containing 4,206 tokens were examined using the R software. The past and present tenses top three propose, show, describe chosen as binomial values for dependent variable tenses. findings indicate that publication periods (external factor) verb choice, types, voices (internal factors) influence choice tense. Additionally, interaction correlations between factors is taken into account.
